The Mike King Partnership

Portsmouth is a unique naval city, mainly situated on Portsea Island. It is the most densely populated city in the UK, with higher than average deprivation. However, the people of Portsmouth have a strong sense of community and always come together for the betterment of the city. The Doctor Mike King Trust works with the sixth form providers and secondary schools across the city to raise the aspirations of youngsters in the city. Our common goal is to ensure that no potential doctors fall through the net and miss the opportunity to pursue a career in Medicine. The A-Level providers across the city have come together as part of 'The Mike King Partnership' to collaboratively work on supporting students to complete successful applications to medical schools across the UK. The collaboration is groundbreaking and is fully supported by the Senior Leaders of their respective organisations. Essentially, any students attending one of these providers has full access to the range of resources and expertise of the Trust. Council Leaders and The University of Portsmouth also fully support the Partnership.
